Day FOUR - 7 March 2013

The fourth day in Wuhan was new! We had Ms Mikia for our lecture. The lecture again ended very early. So, Ms Mikia taught us a new game called Mafia. This game requires a large space to play that we went to the large grass patch to play. The large grass patch was used by local students for picnics and gathering with friends where they enjoy the sun together. Singapore is not as big as China that could have this grass patch in school, hence it is a good experience for most of us. We took photos for memories and enjoy the sun after the game.

We went to print our lecture notes after the fun we had at the grass patch. One interesting thing I found out is that most local students do not have a backpack for school. They just carry a book with them for the whole day. They do not print notes. They only print homework that they did. Hence we only find one printing shop that is near our classrooms. The printing shop was there for some students to print their homework. The chefs or stall holders will also go there to print their menus. That is also why when we printed one whole stack of notes, the locals was looking at us. In the evening we went to a Korea restaurant. Recently, the Korean pop is very popular among the teenagers and that the teenagers got attracted to Korean food. The Korea restaurant can be easily found near the school. We ate Hot Stone Mixed Rice (Bibimbab, 石锅拌饭) and Korean Rice Cake. Although it is not as tasty as what it is in Korea, It was a good way to exchange culture between Korea and China. We are going to climb mountain in the weekends that we know we have to get a shoe that has grip and anti-slip. My friends and I went shopping for shoes. We walked the whole street and found no suitable size for our feet. This shows that all the females in China have small feet! Their biggest size is only 39 where our feet are at least size 40. This is another difference from Singapore! The shoes shops in Singapore have shoe sizes ranging all the way to 44, while China only have shoe sizes ranging to 39. We have no choice but to buy men’s shoe. Also, all the shoe shops sell women’s shoe in cheaper price than men’s shoe. This got to show that they focus mainly on females and that the males in China rarely buy shoe. My friends and I bought our shoe and went back to our hostel contented. J
